Christmas...wow!

Thumbies,

If your Christmas was as nice as mine then you are still smiling. Although the presents were/are very nice, spending time with my family was wonderful. Being away for the holidays gives one time to think about, at least, three things:

1. To appreciate the blessing it is just to get away. Many, many people do not have the opportunity or the means to just get away.

2. Relaxing! As my wife always says, "Doc, you don't know how to relax!". On the other hand, my girlfriend knows I know how to relax (just kidding Princess!!!!!). Seriously though, in today's world, we don't take the time to stop and smell the roses. At our home, we even have over 30 rose bushes in our yard and we still don't stop to smell them. What up wit dat?

3. Rejuvenate your mind and body for the upcoming year. Even when I am writing this, I am thinking about how hard I want to work next year...no time for relaxation. I guess there is a happy medium and when it is found, happiness will follow.

In short, the holidays seem to bring out the 'niceness' in most people. I just wish it was Christmas everyday...isn't there a song about this? Oh well, beginning with the next blog, I will again start discussing lawns, trees, bugs, diseases, fertilizers, machines, weeds, fungi, insects, grass legumes, rust, grubs, weed control, granules, red thread, power seeding, insecticides, mowing techniques, watering, Japanese beetles, drought, mold, brown patch, mites, voles and moles, calibrations, grub control, aeration, seeding, spraying, lime, herbicides, etc. Sorry...it's just in my blood.

TIP OF THE DAY...Work hard and play even harder!
