Folks...summer is here!

Thumbies,

Summer is here in a BIG way. I have never experienced humidity and heat like this...88-93 degrees, if not hotter. Trust me, we will NOT service your lawn when the temp. is over 85 degrees. We could probably get away with servicing but you know me...your (my) lawn comes first. Burning a lawn is very easy to do when the temp. is this high and there is no rain.

What to do when heat is excessive:

Grab a beer and go swimming! Oops, sorry...you probably thought I was going to give you advice concerning your lawn. To be honest, there is nothing you can do BESIDES WHAT YOU SHOULD ALREADY BE DOING. Just as a reminder, you should be:

- mowing your lawn at least 3 inches high
- watering your lawn everyday (instead of every 3rd day) in the morning
- keeping off your lawn during the heat of the day to avoid making burn marks
- weed wacking with a straight edge and NOT scalping the edge of your lawn
- watching your lawn for diseases

So, to sum up...when the heat is turned on, you really can't do anything. When you love your lawn like I do (and I know you do), and the heat is beating it down...you begin to understand how powerless you are when it comes to mother nature. Remember, it could always be worse!

TIP OF THE DAY: When jumping into a pool by doing a cannonball, you MUST yell "CANNONBALL"!
