I'm back, baby!

Thumbies, thumbies, thumbies...tis the season. Yes, it's that time of year when everybody is getting anxious for spring, everybody is thinking, "When should I do my first mowing", everybody is wondering when the LAWN DOCTOR will be doing the first servicing. Side note - - - - -lawn care companies are already servicing lawns. Are you kidding me? Between Monday and Wedesday (3/15 to 3/17), I have done over 40 evaluations for potential clients. 11 out of 10 (no, not a typo) lawns were a sloppy, soupy mess. I, as you know, prefer to use common sense with most of my decisions. The grass is very, VERY wet due to the several feet of snow (yeah...global warming my $%#). The grass can only absord so much liquid.

Picture a plant in your home. You water it everyday for a week. By the 2nd or 3rd day, the pot will begin to over-run. The same is with the grass. Sure there is several feet of soil underneath the grsss to absorb the water and...NOT! People, people, people...this is Western PA! Our soil is, at the most, 3 to 5 inches deep of good soil while the rest is clay and rock. So, where does the water go...good question. Where will the fertilizer (liquid or granular) go...good question. Did Joanie really love Chachi...good question.

So, as for me servicing...I will be out next week to spray trees and shrubs and plan on sevicing lawns the following week - weather permitting.

TIP OF THE DAY...3 words - - - Turtle Oreo Blizzard!

I'm glad it is getting close for you to start servicing lawns. It sounds as though you are getting antsy to get out there!
Since I am one to never turn down ice cream, I will definately have to try the Turtle Oreo Blizzard!!
