Preparing for the STORM OF THE CENTURY

Thumbies…all I have heard for the last 24 hours is snow reports.  Yes, I enjoy skiing but WOW…enough is enough.  This is Pennsylvania and it is February – do the math!  When haven’t we received large amounts of snow in January / February?  Sure, there make be record snowfalls but, oh well, that’s mother nature.

Just remain calm!  No need to panic, drive to the grocery store and stare at the bare shelves.  It’s as though the weathermen/women have a deal with grocery stores.  The very minute they mention the word STORM…people flock to stores to stock-up on food.  When is the last time you ran out of food in your home?  When is the last time you were snowed-in?  Sure, natural disasters are horrible but in this part of the country, we are pretty lucky.

So, again, relax and just use common sense.  How will the weather affect your lawn?  There will be minimal to no affect (is it affect or effect?).  Just try to use a snow blower verses plowing or stacking mounds of snow too high on your lawn.  As for the snow…enjoy it, it is one of God’s beautiful miracles.

TIP OF THE DAY…When making a snowman, the carrot is used for the nose…!
